Have a go at canoe slalom!

Would you like to  have a go at canoe slalom?

We are looking to organise some introductory slalom sessions in August and early September. The sessions are aimed at any club members, who can paddle on flat water and would like to have a go at slalom. Juniors are very welcome - we have a number of junior sized slalom boats! All equipment (boats, paddles, decks, helmets, BAs, cagoules) can be provided.  You only need provide paddling clothes, dry clothes for afterwards and a towel.

It is planned to run some taster sessions at the Action Outdoors sessions at the Union Canal on Tuesday 5th of August and then Tuesday 12th of August. Sessions start at 7pm and cost £3 per member.  Sessions will then move to Monday evenings at the slalom site at Alva, starting at 5:30pm and running to 6:30pm.  Cost of the Alva sessions is £1 per person per night, including all kit.

The club is running an entry level slalom the weekend of the 13th/14th September, which those who attend the sessions might like to have a go at.

If you are interested, please let Sarah Stubley know
(This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).  It will assist with organising if you could let us know how much juniors weigh so that we can try to match boats to paddler sizes.
